Hi there!  How are you? What are you doing? I'm drinking a not so much delicious cup of tea with lemon haha. I have a little cough so I decided to treat my voice and throat more nicely haha. Take care of yourself, spring and allergies are coming! Well, this post will be about a briefly introduction to"Learning Styles and Strategies" since we haven't started with the topic in deeper yet. The following video starts with a very nice piece of advise: "Understanding the different styles and strategies will help you find your strengths and help you learn more." Here, we will find information about the following themes: left and right brain dominance; different kinds of learners, such as visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners; language learners' need of the 3A's (Autonomy of learning with others, Awareness of their own processes of learning and Action with strategies available) and also categories of learning strategies: Metacognitive, Cogn

FLA & SLA

Hi mates! How are you? Hope you're enjoying this warm and beautiful week.♥ Last Thursday, at the prof, we gave a closure to First Language Acquisition and we started working on Second Language Acquisition. As we have learned, the acquisition of a first language is an unconscious, homogeneous and universal process for everyone but this doesn't apply for the acquisition of a second one. It is also important to distinguish between these two meaningful concepts: Acquisition and Learning. Acquisition refers to an unconscious and natural process with a gradual development whereas Learning is a conscious process which involves accumulation of knowledge.  The following videos explain briefly what FLA consists of. This third video is about SLA and it analyzes several factors that we must take into account when learning or teaching a second language. In class, we discussed lots of them, but one of the main factors was the differences on how adults and children learn

Hi there! How are you? Freezing? Me too! And winter doesn't come yet! OMG! Meanwhile, I'm enjoying a delicious cup of coffee with milk. Hope you're doing the same. If not, take some minutes FOR YOU and RELAX for a while. Believe me, at this time of the year and with this kind of weather, it's worthy of consideration!  Well, let's start with this new post. I wanted to write and I didn't know what about. So, I thought, thought and thought and there it was! Elephants. But not any elephant, I mean Ganesha (apart from that, one of my favourite animals are elephants haha). Some people know me really well and notice I love Hindu culture. I can spend hours writing or talking about this beautiful culture. GANESHA  The Lord of all these groups of atoms and energies is called Ganesha. He is the supreme consciousness that pervades everything and brings order to this universe. Ganesha is energy itself, that is why he is the reason of this universe. Ganes

Four Methods

Last class at the prof, we made a rewiew of different methods and approaches. However, this post will be only focused on the Four Methods. The first one is COMMUNITY LANGUAGE LEARNING. It is also called counseling- learning theory. On the one hand, the teacher operates in a supportive role, monitors learners' utterances and provides assitance when requested. She/He acts as a counselor and paraphrases what the students say. On the other hand, students work together, listen to the teacher attentively, repeat target utterances and sometimes become counselors of other learners. The second one is THE SILENT WAY. In this method, students need to develop their own "inner criteria" for correctness. They should be practicing the language, not the teacher, so she is mostly silent. In addition, errors are important and necessary for correction. The teacher uses charts and rods as tools and encourages the learners to have an active role in learning the language. Finally, stu

How are you? I hope you're enjoying this cold weather. I love it! ♥  Well, the other day I explained to you the reason why I've chosen that name for my blog. Today, I decided that it would be a great idea to introduce you my family. We are a lot of people in this tribe haha. So, I'm going to show you some of them.  Here we have mum and dad. They are Monica and Carlos. My mum is forty-five years old and she looks like my sister rather than my mother. She is a  really beautiful woman. Besides, I don't have any brothers or sisters. Let's continue... my dad is fifty and something... I don´t remember very well haha. He isn´t my biological father, but he is together with my mum since I was eight months old. So, for me he is my REAL AND BELOVED DAD. In this pic, we were celebrating the arrival of this new year. Next please! haha. Ohhh, it's very difficult for me to talk about these people without crying since they are everything for me. I can´t explained
