FLA & SLA

Hope you're enjoying this warm and beautiful week.♥ Last Thursday, at the prof, we gave a closure to First Language Acquisition and we started working on Second Language Acquisition. As we have learned, the acquisition of a first language is an unconscious, homogeneous and universal process for everyone but this doesn't apply for the acquisition of a second one. It is also important to distinguish between these two meaningful concepts: Acquisition and Learning. Acquisition refers to an unconscious and natural process with a gradual development whereas Learning is a conscious process which involves accumulation of knowledge. The following videos explain briefly what FLA consists of. This third video is about SLA and it analyzes several factors that we must take into account when learning or teaching a second language.
